OCEAN PINES–During its general membership meeting ON May 1, the Women’s Club of Ocean Pines presented $2,500 in college scholarships and $2,000 to community organizations that provide services to Ocean Pines residents.
Scholarships were awarded to Brandon Johnson, Cassidy Larwood and Jessica Paulsen from Stephen Decatur High School in recognition of their academic achievements, extra-curricular involvement and dedication to their community.
Donations were presented to Ocean Pines Police Department, Ocean Pines Recreation & Parks Department, Ocean Pines Fire Department, McGuffey Literacy Program, Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, NAMI, Women Supporting Women and the Worcester County Youth & Family Counseling.
The purpose of the Women’s Club is to promote civic and social activities, including educational and community outreach opportunities, for its members to the benefit of the Ocean Pines community. The monies were raised through fundraisers.
