David Hardy submits application ahead of deadline to enter race

(May 13, 2021)  The filing deadline for the Ocean Pines Board of Directors election arrived on Monday with a handful of applicants surfacing to compete for a pair of open seats.

“We have five applicants,” board Secretary Camilla Rogers said Tuesday.

Applying as candidates in this year’s elections are incumbent Frank Daly and challengers Stuart Lakernick, Rick Farr, Lisa Romersa and David Hardy.

Rogers said the next step in the election process will be confirming that each of the applicants to be a candidate is qualified to run.

“They’re not yet candidates,” she said.

Senior Executive Secretary Michelle Bennett said Rogers and Membership and Assessment supervisor Ruth Ann Myers would undertake a review of applications and verify each candidate is in good standing with the association.

“They have to let the Election Committee know the entire candidate list,” she said.

Elections Committee Chairman Steve Habeger said his group is scheduled to meet on Friday.

Bennett will see that involved parties are contacted once Rogers completes reviewing applications.

“Once she verifies them she’ll give them to me and then I assist with writing the letters to the candidates and compiling the list to the Election Committee,” she said.
