Board of License Commissioners Briefs

(May 28, 2020) The Worcester County Board of License Commissioners granted several new liquor licenses and transfers during their meeting on Wednesday, May 20.

The Globe

The Globe, located on 12 Broad Street in Berlin, was granted a license to serve beer, wine and liquor. The property was purchased by Bryan Brushmiller, owner of Burley Oak Brewery, last fall.

The 7,000-square-foot building will have 175 seats at inside tables and an inside bar with 30 seats. The property will operate Sunday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

The license also requests live entertainment five days a week from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Cambria Hotel

The new Cambria Hotel on St. Louis Avenue and 7th Street in Ocean City was granted a license to serve beer, wine and liquor. The eight-story hotel will have 137 rooms.

The inside lobby bar will have 1,600 square feet of space with 10 seats at the bar and 50 seats at tables. The outside lobby will have 1,500 square feet of space with 40 seats at tables and 40 seats on a 3,000 square-foot pool deck.

A rooftop bar will have 10-15 seats inside and 100 seats at tables inside with 2,000 square feet of space. There will also be 3,000 square feet of outside seating with 60 seats at tables.

Annabelle’s

Annabelle’s Barbecue and Creamery, a new restaurant located on 64th Street on the bayside, was granted a license to serve beer, wine and liquor. The restaurant will serve barbecue meals and ice cream.

The 2,600 square-foot building will hold 75 seats inside. The two patios outside, each consisting of 200 square feet, will hold 35 seats at tables together. Staff will serve alcohol from a walk-up counter.

Annabelle’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week, year round.

Fenwick Inn

The Fenwick Inn on 138th Street in Ocean City was granted a license to serve beer, liquor and wine. There will be a restaurant and bar on the top floor, with the inside bar seating 15 people. The rest of the seating has not yet been determined.

The restaurant and bar will be open from 4-10 p.m. seven days a week from May through September. It will be closed during the off season.

Hilton Tru Hotel

The Hilton Tru Hotel, located on 34th Street in Ocean City, will have 105 rooms. The license for beer and wine will allow hotel guests to purchase alcoholic beverages from the front desk and consume in the hotel lobby or in their rooms.

There will not be a bar or outside seating.

The 3,200-square-foot lobby can seat 75 to 80 people. The applicants also requested one shuffleboard table and one foosball table for the lobby.
