(Sept. 20, 2018) Allison Early will replace the departing Sharon Timmons as a Town of Berlin administrative assistant in the office of economic and community development, department director Ivy Wells said on Tuesday.

Early had been working as an assistant to Berlin Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Larnet St. Amant.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Town of Berlin staff,” Early said. “I’ve lived in Berlin my whole life and I’m happy to be in a position where I can give back to my community. Ivy is a wonderful person and I look forward to working closely with her! We will make a great team.”

Wells said Early would start on Oct. 1.

“Larnet hired her just about a month ago for the chamber assistant position, but then encouraged her to apply for this one,” Wells said. “It was a tough decision, because there were four really great candidates that we interviewed.”

St. Amant said Early had been a wonderful addition to the chamber.

“She stepped in when I needed help. She and I had a relationship and have worked together for years,” St. Amant said. “I was happy to have her and I think she’s going to be a wonderful addition to the town. She’s rooted here. She’s from here. She’s going to start her married life here. So, we’re just thrilled that she can still be in our Berlin family.

“She’s not going anywhere, she’s just going right next door, so she’ll still be able to help,” she added.

St. Amant said the chamber would be hiring a new part-time assistant. For inquiries, contact the Berlin Chamber of Commerce at 410-641-4775 or chamberinfo@berlinchamber.org, or drop off a resume at the chamber office inside the Berlin Welcome Center on 14 South Main Street.
