(June 23, 2016) The Ocean Pines Association Board of Directors will hold a special meeting today, Thursday, to address a pair of proposed capital purchases that failed to earn approval after a 3-3-tie vote.
The meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the boardroom inside the administration building.
During the last regular meeting, May 26, Vice President Cheryl Jacobs was absent and the remaining directors deadlocked on the purchase of fairway mowers and sprayers for the golf course, and for a food truck that would serve several Ocean Pines amenities and events.
The mower and sprayer are on the agenda Thursday, while the food truck is absent. Reached for comment, Jacobs confirmed that item would not be addressed during the meeting.
Following the open session, the directors will convene to discuss “contractual issues” related to Landscapes Unlimited, which manages the community golf course.
“They’ve been here a year now and it’s totally appropriate to have a review of how things are going as it relates to the contract and their performance against it,” Jacobs said.
