Bertino town hall, other OP events get rescheduled

(Oct. 8, 2015) While last weekend’s storms did not cause as much damage to the inland areas of Worcester County as some had anticipated, a number of events in Ocean Pines were nevertheless canceled.
Originally scheduled for Oct. 3, the the town hall-style meeting with Worcester County Commissioner Chip Bertino has been rescheduled his town hall for Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Ocean Pines Library at 10 a.m.
Bertino will provide information on issues and developments occurring within the district and the county. Sonny Bloxom, Worcester County attorney, will join Bertino as a guest speaker and Commissioner President Jim Bunting will take part in a question-and-answer session.
The Parke Community Yard Sale, postponed from Oct. 3, will be held this Saturday.
Maps will be available at the Parke’s main entrance at Central Parke West and Chatham Street near the south entrance of Ocean Pines. Residents of the 55-and-over community will sell clothing, household items electronics, furniture and other items. For more information, call 410-208-4994.
The Ocean Pines Farmers Market, held each Saturday, will resume its normal schedule from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at White Horse Park.
Vendors are expected to include Alaskawild Seafoods, Artisan Breads, Baked Dessert Café, Best Friend Collars, D. J. David & Company, Eastern Shore Kettle Korn, Fresh Harvest Hydroponics, Girdletree Gardens, Grays Produce, Great Expectations Farm, LLC, Great Shoals Winery, Hasting Farms, Holly Hill Homemade Goods.
 La Marché, Longridge Gardens, Naturally Sunkissed Farms, Naturally Wrapped, Old World Beads, Paper Crafts by Nikki, Rocking “T” Farms, Rockwood Soy Co., Stag Run Farm LLC, The Good Farm, Tout de Suite Patisserie, Tumbleweed & Eddies and Tyaskin Pasture Fresh Farms.
The Annual Family Fall Festival at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in Ocean Pines, originally scheduled for Oct. 2, will not be rescheduled. Organizer Nichole Behornar said the children would instead have an in-school celebration.
The sixth annual Ocean Pines Health Fair, originally set for Oct. 3, had not been rescheduled as of press time.
