Berlin to crown Little Mister, Miss Peach this Friday

(Aug. 13, 2015) There are moments, as a parent, you will always look back on fondly, with pride, and maybe with a stray, single tear in your eye. First steps, first words, graduation and that time your son or daughter became Little Miss or Mister Berlin Peach.
For parents with such inclinations – or children with such effusive, bubbling personalities – the 2015 Little Miss Berlin Peach and Little Mister Berlin Peach Pageant will coincide with the town’s 2nd Friday art stroll tomorrow at 6 p.m. on the front porch of the Atlantic Hotel.
Berlin Main Street will present the event, and David Miller will emcee.
Administrative Assistant Sharon Timmons advised contestants to, “dress in your Sunday best and be cute.”
Contestants will be judged on poise, personality and stage presence with each category scored on a scale from one to five points by a panel of judges.
Winners will participate in several town events, including the 2015 Berlin Christmas parade and 2016 Berlin Peach Festival. First runners-up will be named in event Little Miss or Mister Berlin Peach is unable to fulfill their obligations of their respective titles.
“It’s a cool way for children to become part of Berlin,” Timmons said. “They’ll participate in the Christmas parade, and then they’ll open the Peach Festival for next year. I just think it’s a cute way to involve the kids in being a part of the town.”
Last year Hailey Lewis, 5, was crowned Little Miss Berlin Peach and Hunter Dysart, 5, was crowned Little Mister Peach.
The deadline for entry to the 6th annual Peach Pageant is 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 14. Contestants must be ages 4-7 and reside in Worcester County, and can register at the Atlantic Hotel. An adult must accompany all contestants.
