Berlin art stroll to include outreach, exhibits and sales

(April 13, 2017) Berlin’s 2nd Friday festivities will feature more than a dozen art displays throughout the downtown area, along with sales and specials in restaurants from 5-8 p.m.
The Church Mouse Thrift Shop on 101 North Main Street will provide outreach to the Jesse Klump Memorial Fund. Information on suicide awareness and support information for survivors will be available through a representative set up outside the store. Inside, the shop will offer $1 specials, with proceeds supporting the Klump Fund.
Bungalow Love on 9 South Main Street will host a DIY tabletop garden workshop from 5-7 p.m. Drop-ins are welcome.
On What Grounds? on 103 North Main Street Berlin will display “Images of Assateague,” an exhibition by Rick and Tonia Hunt.
Nest on 11 South Main Street will feature Stephen Decatur student Zoe Watson, who creates handmade jewelry made from paper and plastics.
Baked Dessert Cafe on 4 Bay Street will show original artwork by Ian Posely and host a Michael and David wine tasting with special pricing.
Burley Oak Brewing Company on 10016 Old Ocean City Boulevard will have acoustic husband-and-wife duo Bad Since Breakfast, starting at 9 p.m. The brewery will also feature local painter Patti Backer. She will have a table set up with prints. Twenty percent of her sales will be donated to Diakonia.  
Random Juxtaposition on 9928 Old Ocean City Road, Unit 9, will celebrate spring with student artwork, including oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor paintings. The gallery will also have rustic snacks and spring sangria from 5-8 p.m.
Blacksmith on 104 Pitts Street will have taco and drink specials.
The Globe on 12 Broad Street will feature a “Local’s Favorite” artist competition.
Downtown Video on 114 North Main Street will display hand-painted gourds.
Heart of Gold Kids on 27 North Main Street will offer free Easter crafts for kids.
Wooden Octopus on 8 Jefferson Street will have an open studio.
The Worcester County Arts Council on 6 Jefferson Street will have an “Artist’s Choice” juried art competition and exhibit with judging by Grover Cantwell.
Zenna Wellness on 10 South Main Street will have an open mic night, hosted by spoken word poet Ash’iz Tha Rebirth.
Stevenson United Methodist Church on 123 North Main Street will sell crab cake dinners with two sides.
